Happy 1st Birthday!

My friend's little boy just celebrated his first birthday. As favors she wanted large iced sugar cookies. Here are the 6 inch cookies that I cut out. By hand. With an Exacto knife. All 50 of them.
I can't complain. The work paid off because they were ADORABLE and she loved them.

Zeke's snack day!

In my son's pre-school class, the kids get to take turns bringing in snacks. Last week, my Zeker Man got to have his snack day. Since our elementary schools don't allow homemade treats, I will send in yummy homemade goodies until he reaches kindergarten. We always have so much fun coming up with something for him to pass out to his friends. Here are the colorful spring sugar cookies that we made this time.

Aloha!

My cousin and her fiance are getting married in Hawaii then having a reception once they return home. Here is the invitation to their Hawaiian Luau reception.
Sorry, I can't figure how to rotate the photo!

Another first attempt!

I recently had an order for 2 large sheet cakes for a surprise 70th birthday party. For most bakers this would be a cake walk, so to speak. For me, however, it involved an all-nighter with several trips to Taco Bell for caffeine reinforcements. I was just a bit nervous about this undertaking. Here is what I came up with. Keep in mind this was my first attempt at a sheet cake (I seem to say that a lot).

Hand made tulips.

The delicious cake bites I threw in with the order.

Cheeseburger in Paradise!

My little man, Zeke, turned 5 years old yesterday! In honor of this milestone, we celebrated by having a Cheeseburger in Paradise party. We enjoyed cheeseburgers (of course), french fried potatoes, big kosher pickles, shrimp cocktail, fruit salad, mac n cheese, frozen concoctions and, best of all, CHEESEBURGER CUPCAKES!

Ava's Sock Hop Birthday Party!

A few weeks ago, my niece, Ava, turned 2! We celebrated by having a 50's Sock Hop. I was so happy to make her poodle skirt cake and cupcakes.

Princess Harper's birthday cake

This past weekend was Harper's 3rd birthday party. Since she was having a princess themed party, I thought I would attempt to make a 'real' cake instead of cupcakes. I worked for several days on this and was pretty happy with how it turned out. I learned a lot about making cakes in the process and am excited for my next opportunity to try again. So here it is. Keep in mind that this was my first attempt. Don't mind the lumps!
